ENRICHMENT CLASSES

SJA offers a number of classes and programs designed to expose students to areas outside the core curriculum, as a means of developing and enhancing their education and interests.

ENRICHMENT CLASSES INCLUDE:

  • WORLD LANGUAGES: A designated “Language Lab” which is overseen by a Language Proctor; allows students from grades 4-8 to chose from numerous languages in our Duolingo based lab.

  • COMPUTER: Students from Pre-K to grade 8, will develop a wide range of computer skills in our “state of the art” computer lab, taught by a dedicated computer specialist.

  • PHYSICAL EDUCATION: All students will receive Physical Education with a designated P.E Teacher

  • MUSIC: All students will receive Music Education in our specialized music room with a dedicated music professional.

  • LIBRARY: All classes will be provided access to our extensive Library once a week, where library skills will be taught by our onsite Librarian. Students will also be allowed to visit the library during free time as needed.

  • ART: Art will be taught in each class room by the classroom teacher.

ONLINE PROGRAMS OFFERED:

  • MATH: IXL Math K-6

  • WORLD LANGUAGES: DUOLINGO (in school account may be accessed from home)

ALSO INCLUDED:

We offers a variety of field trips throughout the year , whole school activities, such as Plays, The Walk-a-Thon, Field Day, Holiday Activities, as well as a variety of service projects to support people in need.

Our “Buddy Program”; pairing older students with the younger ones, has been well received and quite successful. The “Buddies”, participate in learning activities and projects, as older students mentor their young partners.
